Twins' Nathan has torn elbow ligament (AP)

In this photo taken on March 6, 2010, Minnesota Twins pitcher Joe Nathan, right, with teammates Justin Morneau, left, and Orlando Hudson (1), looks away before walking off the mound after pitching part of the third inning against the Boston Red Sox in a spring training baseball game in Fort Myers, Fla. Nathan has a torn ligament in his throwing elbow. General Manager Bill Smith says the plan is to rest Nathan for two weeks, eliminate the soreness and build strength in his elbow before making any decisions about surgery.

The Minnesota Twins suddenly have a glaring concern about closing games for the first time since Joe Nathan took over in 2004. Tests on Nathan's right throwing elbow have revealed a significant tear in the ulnar collateral ligament, an injury that could require season-ending Tommy John surgery. Nathan's 246 saves over six seasons are the most in the majors during that span.

On Tuesday night, they finally got the title and the ticket they so desperately craved. A year after being upset on its home court in the conference title game, Butler blew out second-seeded Wright State 70-45 to claim its fourth...
Strasburg pitches 2 scoreless in debut (AP)
Stephen Strasburg battled some nerves and location issues during his spring training debut. Other than those minor hiccups, the top prospect was pretty impressive. Strasburg threw two scoreless innings in the Washington Nationals' 9-4 loss to the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday, responding well to the hoopla surrounding his first exhibition start.
